How long do we keep your personal data?
Updated at Oct 22, 2026, Viewed 0 times

We retain your data only as long as necessary or required by law. The exact periods depend on the type of data, as set out in our Privacy Policy:

Retention periods

  • Account and academic records — kept while your account is active and for 5 years after closure, in line with FERPA standards and accreditation requirements. This is also what allows employers and institutions to verify your credential through our verification services during that period.
  • Financial records — retained for 7 years, per tax and financial regulations.
  • Analytics data — may be kept indefinitely in anonymized form, so it can no longer identify you.

When data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized. Note that closing your account is final — a closed account cannot be recovered, as explained in Can I recover my account after deletion?.

The full retention rules are set out in our Privacy Policy.
