What happens if I violate the Terms of Use?
Updated at Oct 22, 2026, Viewed 0 times

Violations can result in suspension or termination of your account — and credentials obtained through misconduct can be revoked.

What can happen

  • Terms violations. Breaching the Terms and Conditions can lead to account suspension or termination, and fees already paid are not refunded in that case.
  • Academic misconduct. Plagiarism, cheating, impersonation, or falsified documents are investigated under the Code of Conduct (an impartial investigation, normally within 15 business days of a report). Confirmed cases can lead to dismissal and revocation of any certificate or degree awarded. Revoked credentials are recorded on our public Academic Revocation Registry and no longer verify through our verification tool.
  • Fraud and abuse. Frivolous refund demands or chargeback abuse may also be treated as violations, with the consequences above.

If you believe a decision was made in error, contact our support team with the details of your case.
